Admission criteria for Degree Programs
Generally admission to the Degree program is based on the rules and regulation set by Ministry of Education in every year. Accordingly a candidate to the program should fulfill the following criteria:
1. Generic
- Candidates preferably be a natural science student in secondary school & complete preparatory (pre college education)
- Meet the set grade point on placement examination to join higher learning institution by the Federal Ministry of Education, Ethiopia.
- Have a diploma and two year service in one of the following disciplines (biology, chemistry, general sciences)
- Have a Diploma in one of the following health science with a minimum of two year service (environmental health, medical laboratory, pharmacy, midwifery, Clinical Nursing etc. and a minimum of 2.00 in matriculation and basic diploma training)
- Has interest for the profession.
- Has optimum health to undergo the learning and serving in the community and clinical areas.
2. Advance standing (Post-basic)
- Had a minimum of two year training on a specific field with a minimum of two year service and professional registration license from Minestry of Health.
- Had a minimum of 2.00 grade point in matriculation
- Had a minimum of CGPA of 2.00 (60%) in basic diploma training.
- Has interest for the profession.
- Has optimum health to undergo the learning and serving in the community and clinical area.
- In addition to the above criteria, have a COC qualified if the basic training in diploma is TVET program.
Admission Criteria for Diploma Programs
Admission to the Level 4 (Diploma) program is 2.29 above grade point for Male students and and 2.14 and above for female students in 10th grade matriculation.
